Privacy Policy

Effective Date: May 2026

Canvas Cubs is a place for craft ideas, from cardboard rockets to clay projects to whatever you’re about to spread across the kitchen table. This page explains what happens behind the scenes when you visit, read, comment, or sign up for anything here. By using Canvas Cubs, you’re agreeing to the practices described below.

Children’s Privacy

Canvas Cubs is written for parents, caregivers, teachers, and adult crafters, not for children. This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under that age. If you’re a parent and believe your child has provided us with personal information, contact us at contact@canvascubs.com and we’ll remove it promptly.

The Information Canvas Cubs Collects

There are two categories of information collected on this site.

Information you give us directly, which may include:

  • Your name and email address, if you subscribe to updates or leave a comment
  • Contact details you provide when reaching out through the contact form
  • Any information included in messages sent to us
  • Payment information, if you ever make a purchase directly through the site (handled by a secure third-party processor, never stored by Canvas Cubs itself)

Information collected automatically, which may include:

  • Your IP address
  • Browser type and operating system
  • Internet service provider
  • Time stamps of your visit
  • Pages you viewed and the page that referred you here

How This Information Reaches Us

Canvas Cubs gathers information through a few normal channels: the contact form, the comment section, newsletter sign-up boxes, and standard server log files that record visits automatically. If Canvas Cubs ever sells anything directly, purchase details would be collected at checkout as well.

What Canvas Cubs Does With Your Information

Information collected through this site is used to run and improve Canvas Cubs, respond to your questions, send updates you’ve asked for, understand which craft posts are actually useful to readers, and keep the site secure from abuse or fraud. It is not used to build a profile for sale to strangers, and it is not shared beyond what’s described in this policy.

Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Like most websites, Canvas Cubs uses cookies, which are small text files stored on your device. They help the site remember preferences, understand how visitors move through the pages, and, where applicable, support advertising. You’re free to disable cookies through your browser settings at any time. Doing so may affect how certain parts of the site function, but it won’t block you from reading anything here.

Web Beacons, Pixels, and Similar Tags

Canvas Cubs may use web beacons, tracking pixels, and similar technologies, both now and as the site grows, mainly through analytics tools and potentially through advertising partners in the future. These small pieces of code help measure how content performs and how visitors interact with pages.

Server Log Files

Canvas Cubs uses standard log files that record visitor IP addresses, browser type, internet service provider, timestamps, referring and exit pages, and sometimes click activity. This information isn’t tied to anything personally identifiable and is used only to analyze trends, administer the site, and gather broad demographic information.

Google Analytics

Canvas Cubs uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site, including which craft categories get the most traffic and how people navigate between posts. Google Analytics collects information such as how often visitors return, what pages they visit, and other site usage data anonymously. You can learn more about how Google handles this information through Google’s own privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.

Comments and Social Interaction

When you leave a comment on Canvas Cubs, the comment itself, along with your name and email if provided, is stored so we can respond and moderate the conversation. If you engage with Canvas Cubs through Pinterest, Instagram, or any other social platform, that platform’s own privacy policy governs how your information is handled there, separate from this one.

Embedded Content From Other Websites

Some posts on Canvas Cubs may include embedded content, such as a video, an image, or a Pinterest pin, from other websites. Embedded content behaves exactly as if you visited that other website directly. Those sites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction if you have an account and are logged in to that site.

Links to Other Websites

Canvas Cubs occasionally links to other websites, whether for a supply recommendation, a source, or further reading. This policy applies only to Canvas Cubs. Once you click through to another site, that site’s own privacy practices take over, and we encourage you to review them.

Affiliate Disclosure

Canvas Cubs participates in affiliate marketing programs, including the Amazon Associates program. This means that if you click certain links and make a purchase, Canvas Cubs may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. These links are used to recommend supplies and tools that we genuinely think are useful for the projects featured on the site.

Third-Party Advertising

Canvas Cubs may work with third-party advertising partners, now or in the future, to display ads that help support the site. These partners may use cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies to collect information about your visits to Canvas Cubs and other websites, in order to serve advertising based on your interests. If you’d like to opt out of interest-based advertising, you can visit the Network Advertising Initiative at networkadvertising.org or the Digital Advertising Alliance at aboutads.info to manage your preferences.

When Information May Be Shared

Canvas Cubs does not sell personal information. Information may be shared in limited circumstances, including with service providers who help operate the site (such as hosting or email delivery services), when required by law or legal process, or as part of a business transfer such as a merger or sale of the site. In each case, information is shared only as needed to carry out that specific purpose.

Email Updates

If you subscribe to Canvas Cubs updates, your email is used only to send the content you signed up for, such as new craft posts or occasional site news. Every email includes a clear unsubscribe link, and we follow CAN-SPAM requirements for all email communication.

Opting Out

You can unsubscribe from Canvas Cubs emails at any time using the link in any message you receive, disable cookies through your browser, or contact us directly at contact@canvascubs.com to ask that your information be removed from our records.

Your Rights Under GDPR

If you’re located in the European Union, you have specific rights regarding your personal data under the General Data Protection Regulation, including the right to:

  • Access the personal data Canvas Cubs holds about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Restrict or object to certain processing
  • Receive your data in a portable format
  • Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at contact@canvascubs.com.

Your Rights Under CCPA

If you’re a California resident, you have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to request deletion of that information, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information (Canvas Cubs does not sell personal information, but you retain this right regardless). Requests submitted to contact@canvascubs.com will be responded to within one month, as required by law.

Keeping Your Information Secure

Canvas Cubs takes reasonable, industry-standard steps to protect the information collected here. That said, no method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, and we can’t guarantee absolute security, though we work to keep your data as safe as reasonably possible.

How Long Information Is Kept

Comments are generally retained indefinitely to keep conversations intact and allow for follow-up moderation. Email addresses collected through sign-up forms are kept until you unsubscribe or request removal. Automatically collected log data is retained only as long as needed for the analytics purposes described above.

Changes to This Policy

This policy may be updated from time to time as Canvas Cubs grows or as legal requirements change. Any updates will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. Continued use of the site after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy, so it’s worth checking back occasionally.
